Having fire extinguishers that function properly is important to keep a home or building safe. If your extinguishers are rechargeable, you should recharge them immediately after use. The method of recharging vary according to the type of material or agent used contained in the extinguisher. Some units contain water, while others use different powdered chemicals. Check the labels to know what type of extinguishers you have.

6 Year Internal Examination: Fire extinguishers require maintenance every 6 years, not just a recharge. Every 6 years, stored pressure fire extinguishers that require 12 year hydrostatic test shall be subjected to the applicable internal examination procedures as detailed in the manufacture's service manual and this standard. This will insure they are in great working condition when you need them most.

Recharge or Buy a New One?

Recharging a fire extinguisher is a cost effective option. You only need to replace it if it's not recharging or when you notice signs of corrosion or malfunction. It's best to bring your extinguisher to our office so we can examine it before recharging. If you used even a small amount of its content, we still check if the remaining content and pressure is enough to extinguish a fire.

Your safety is our priority. Contact us if you need help recharging your fire extinguishers or if you're not sure whether it's time to replace them or not.
